Ryan Ferrier is a Canadian comic book writer best known for the acclaimed original series such as the D4VE trilogy and Hot Damn for IDW, and Kennel Block Blues and Curb Stomp for Boom! Studios.
Through Dark Horse Comics, 2018 saw the release of Criminy, his original graphic novel with co-creator Roger Langridge, as well as Death Orb, an original five-issue mini-series with co-creator Alejandro Aragon.
As of April 2019, Ryan takes over the creative reigns of Rat Queens, the fan-favorite, critically acclaimed Image-Shadowline comic series, created by Kurtis J. Wiebe. Along with artist Priscilla Petraites and colorist Marco Lesko, Ryan writes the ongoing series beginning in April’s “Swamp Romp” one-shot, followed by the five-part “Once and Future King” story arc.
Also beginning in April of 2019 is the Narcos comic series, inspired by the hit Netflix show. Ryan will write the four issue series published through IDW, with longtime collaborator Vic Malhotra illustrating.
As well as writing the highly anticipated Kong on the Planet of the Apes, Rocko's Modern Life, and GI JOE vs. The Six Million Dollar Man series, his recent work includes writing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Universe, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Rick & Morty, Labyrinth: Coronation, the Regular Show: Wrasslesplosion graphic novel, and co-writing duties for Batman/TMNT II for DC and IDW publishing.
He is also proud to have written for such celebrated properties as Marvel Secret Wars: Battleworld, WWE, Sons of Anarchy, Godzilla, Over the Garden Wall, Heavy Metal Magazine, Regular Show, and Bravest Warriors.
Ryan is an amateur aficionado of horror films, tattoos, black coffee, hardcore music, professional wrestling, and famous war animals. He plays guitar and sings in a band called Grey Tongue.
